An evaporative cooler is a simple device
consisting of a fan and a water-wetted pad. A small pump re-circulates water
from a sump (which is part of the cooler cabinet) to keep the pad wet, or
alternatively, on smaller appliances, the pad is scrolled through the water
sump using a small geared motor. The fan draws outside air through the wet pad,
making the air more humid but colder. This air is blown into the house, forcing
the warmer air in the house to be exhausted out of open windows or through a
vent into the attic. This is quite different from refrigeration air
conditioning, which cools inside air and returns it to the house. Evaporative coolers, if used as portable
appliances work best in front of open windows, drawing air from outside, and
passing it through the wet pad. They are generally used as a “quick fix”
for short periods of hot weather. Commercial / Industrial evaporative coolers
can be either installed or mobile. In all cases suitable ventilation is
required for evaporative coolers to work efficiently. We offer a wide range of evaporative
coolers, from small domestic applications to large commercial applications.
